Sale of weapons by the United States to Saudi has been set on a pause mode because of the Yemen related concerns. The decision taken by the United States is backed by the fact that Saudi Arabia might use those munitions against Yemen, which would lead to more civilian casualties. The news was confirmed one of the US government officials.
In this regard, the official said that the government of the United States has concerns in relation to the conflict in Yemen. Since air campaign has been the main strategy followed by the Saudi Arabia, therefore the sales of some munitions will not be moved forward. This step is clear indication of the fact that the United States certainly has strong concerns for the people of Yemen, and it also thinks about the flaws in the stand of Saudi Arabia towards Yemen.
In addition, United States is also trying to explore the possibilities of addressing these issues with the Air Force of Saudi Arabia. Weapons whose sale has been stopped may incorporate precision guided missiles and air dropped missiles. This was revealed by an administration official during an interview with the Reuters News Service.
In March 2015, Saudi Arabia formed a coalition comprising of the Middle Eastern nations, and the collation was formed with the purpose to intervene in the ongoing civil war in Yemen.
