The era of technology is experiencing its best days from the release of Virtual Reality (VR) headsets. After the launch of VR headsets from renowned brands like HTC, Oculus, Samsung and Google, another A-list brand is all set to come up with its VR with more features than ever you have seen in any other like devices.
Alcatel, the mobile brand owned by Chinese company- TCL Corporation, recently blew the market with the launch of its stand-alone VR headsets, which does not require a separate android device (smartphone) as in Samsung Gear VR and Google’s Cardboard.
Alcatel, just like last year, is more focused on providing something different to its users. Previously, Alcatel launched the Idol 4S phone along with VR headsets in a bundle for only $399.99.
The Major aim of Alcatel’s latest move is to serve hassle free products, i.e., without any wiring. Alcatel made the stand-alone idea possible by inserting a smartphone of its own into the headset, called the vision. Vision has an octa core processor built in it and is equipped with 3GB RAM, and 32 GB of storage. With all this, it also has Bluetooth, LTE and member of sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. All the required features of a smartphone are stored inside the headset. The list does not end here. The headset is equipped with two AMOLED screens each measuring about 3.8 inches, with a 1,080 x 1, 020 pixel resolution. It stores 3,000 mAh battery on its back.
Alcatel has united with developers like Jaunt VR and Frauhofer to provide pre-loaded games and videos. To buy more content users can use Unity based SDK and app payment system.
No official launch date has been announced yet, but Chinese market may offer it by the end of this year. By now, no price has been decided but analyzing its features. It is expected to roam between from $500 to $600. US is expected to sell it after the beginning of the new year only.
