The original 1968 model gets its name from the movie titled, “classic Bullitt” as the movie hit the silver screen. The Bullitt keeps its traditional look with clean and mean style.
Upcoming Bullitt comes with a tiny, narrow grille with wide headlights, and it also has a chrome horse blocking airflow. The badge-less body panels come with a glossy black insert sans running horse that perfectly matches with the rest of the body.
The 2019 Bullitt Mustang’s custom exterior brings history and prestige which together pays homage to the Steve McQueen hero car. There are large 19-inch wheels in the classic “torque thrust” five-spoke design at the corners which has black finishing and rim polish.
While talking about the interior of the Bullitt, the car looks great inside too. The combination of the retro-style layout with the theme works perfectly. There is the 12-inch LCD screen and tasteful “Bullitt” logo door jam plates which have received a manual gearbox, with a white cue ball shift knob.
Mustang chief designer, Darrell Behmer said, “As a designer, it’s my favorite Mustang – devoid of stripes, spoiler, and badges.” Behmer added, “It doesn’t need to scream about anything – it’s just cool.”
The Bullitt edition includes the long skinny pedal on the right which has the direct connection with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine. It is capable of producing “at least” 475 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque with top speed clocking in at 163 mph top speed.
