Just when you thought you couldn’t get any more out of the Lego Star Wars franchise, TTGames  have announced a new game based solely on the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Previously TT have created games for both of the Star Wars trilogies, as well as releasing both as a single game entitled “Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga”. There have also been numerous other games using the same engine and Lego theme, such as Lego Batman, Lego Rock Band and Lego Indiana Jones.

The games are characterised by their simple but addictive gameplay, slapstick comedy and lack of difficulty. With the odd exception they’ve all received generally good reviews in the press.

The template doesn’t change much between games however, so we’re not sure how long TT can announce new titles using the same engine and get the same reception.

TT details the changes being made for The Clone Wars:

The game will feature brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields.

Play either as a Jedi or Separatist with all-new character abilities, such as Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long  distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups, all within a new, easy-to-navigate hub.”

The game will be released in Autumn of 2010 on the PC and all major consoles. TT have also recently announced a Lego Harry Potter game, covering the first four movies.
