Fallout: New Vegas Details Confirmed

Magazines have started to receive information about the next instalment in the ever popular Fallout series that have begun to flesh out the game. We suggest only reading the news below if you don’t mind finding out a few basic things about New Vegas.

It’s been confirmed the game will once again be a third person FPS game and use the Fallout 3 VAT system for combat.

The game will be set in the Mojave wastelands, and the overall environment will feature less destruction that what we saw in the Capital Wastelands. The city of Vegas has remained ‘mostly intact’ as it wasn’t the target of any nukes during the original war.

The other revelation is that New Vegas will be the first story based Fallout game where you don’t play either a vault dweller or the descendent of a vault dweller. You get your Pip-Boy given to you by someone who is.

While Fallout 3 was developed by licence holders Bethesda, New Vegas is being developed by Obsidian, the studio responsible for games such as Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2.
