In Seattle, Washington, there are two early warning systems are setup in the states of Oregon and Washington to detect earthquakes before it impacts on a specific region. Oregon and Washington are the second lines of states after the system’s introduction and testing was done in California, where the prototype was tested effectively, as it is assumed the device will give warning signals up to a minute before it hit the places.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS) who is the inventor of this early warning system, the devices are still not ready for the public to its exhibition, and not at all ready for public quake warning, because of many small modifications were required. The USGS is busy to find the necessary modifications that can be done on the device, and plans to name it as “the ShakeAlert System.”
The main system is in the Californian states due to more research needed to be done on the prototype, but many will think about the two new systems has been set up in Oregon and Washington, which are adapters to prolong the duration of the device. These new adapter systems are another prototype sets made by the USGS, to test its range expanding mechanisms.
The research based in the USGS believes, if there is a way to know about a potential earthquake, even few seconds before its impact, are also helpful. Thus, using the system is much better than dying without knowing what is coming, here at least one can know how to brace it, by comparing its power.
