Yes, it is now really in the hands of the developers if they want to use this amazing opportunity to add support for cross-network play on Xbox Live.
A cross-playform multiplayer mode must be developed so as to enable users with other consoles and OS play with you on Microsoft network. Microsoft is changing its age old policy of restricting cross-network access and it is great news for the entire gaming community. They recently told in a press-release that –
Of course, it’s up to game developers to support this feature, and Xbox Live players will always have the option of choosing to play only with other Xbox Live players. We’re thrilled to confirm that Psyonix’s Rocket League will be one of the first games to take advantage of this new capability by enabling cross-network play between Xbox One and PC players, with an open invitation for other networks to participate as well.
Also if we see 2015 sales Xbox One is not doing very well but many gaming studios are developing games and there are people who love PC and Xbox platforms already.
