After weeks of continuous leaks, rumors, and perplexing marketing plans of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), Google officially announced the release date of the most awaited smartphones, Google Pixel and Pixel XL, as 20th October 2016 (pre-order option is also available).google-pixel-xl-phone

There are various spectacular features in this phone such as the 12.3 MP camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, Android Nougat, 4GB RAM etc., which outshines all other smartphones of 2016. However, here are certain flaws which were found in this smartphone:

The phone itself was built by HTC, while all the software and hardware were created by Google’s engineers. But, this time, it seems that Google Pixel and Pixel XL has an iPhone-inspired design. However, Google’s idea to place a glass panel on the back sets the design of Pixel and Pixel XL apart from other smartphones.

Another major drawback of Google Pixel and Pixel XL is its limited and exclusive range of colors. This time, Google Pixel comes with three colors namely Quite Black, Very Silver and Really Blue. Since last few years, customers are fed up of not being able to use phones of different colors.

In spite of having such great software and a superb 12.3 MP camera experience, one major hurdle that may affect the sales of Google Pixel and Pixel XL, is their prices. Google Pixel (5-inch screen and 32GB internal) is worth $649 and Pixel XL (5.5-inch screen and 32GB internal) costs a whopping $769.

The only question that arises now- ” Are Pixel and Pixel XL worth it?”. Though the camera experience is profusely improved, but shouldn’t a smartphone of Goggle with partners like Huawei have a good camera anyway? Even the features of Pixel and Pixel XL are not that special, people were expecting a lot more from Google with such high prices. Google might be in huge trouble because of the high prices, while its competitor like OnePlus 3 is worth $400 with a superior 6 GB RAM.

Got min out of the box today and it has issues. It would not go past a screen with an Andriod on his back and said no connect (or something slightly different). The phone is nice and reminds me of the iPhone to be honest. Decided to return to Verizon and purchase one through Google and now I am on a waiting list… SUCKS having to wait yet again.
